One of the oldest, and most quoted sayings in Real Estate is “location, location, location”.
It’s a well-known fact that location has always been one of the primary factors in determining the value of a home because, many buyers are willing to buy a home, regardless of its condition but the home is in a great location.
In this post I will break down three critical elements which qualify a home as having a great location so you can have confidence that you’re buying a great home which will have awesome resale value in the years to come thanks to its location.
School District
It doesn’t matter if you’re 20, 40 or 60 years old, if you’re buying a home in Portland make sure you choose a home which is in a good school district and close to good schools.
The school district is important when buying a home because, you will have high quality schools to send your children to, if you’re starting a family, and your Realtor can market your home in the future as being in a great school district, if you plan on selling.
Views or Privacy
When you first step foot in a Portland Oregon home what do you see?
Water views? Trees? Strip malls?
Make sure you choose a home with views or privacy, because, most home buyers will want to buy homes with views or a private lot and they will be willing to pay more for those features.
Convenience
What is the home close to?
Downtown? Shopping? Restaurants? Public Transportation?
Home buyers want to buy a home which is close to the major attractions, restaurants, night life, shopping, and public transportation that the city has to offer and its import to keep those points in mind when buying a home.
