PORTLAND, Ore. – If you are thinking about selling your
home and know that you need to hire a Portland
Oregon Real Estate Agent consider asking these three crucial questions
before hiring an agent.
Question #1 – Are You A
Full Time Or Part Time Portland Oregon Real Estate Agent?
Although it’s not always necessary for a Real Estate
agent to be working in the business full time, the reality is that you will
receive better service from your agent if they are working in the business full
time compared to part time as they usually have more transactional experience
and more time to dedicate to your home sale.
Question #2 – How Many Homes
Have You Sold In the Last Year?
Honesty backed up by real data is important to ensure
your real estate agent has done the amount of business they have claimed. Often times newer agents work alongside a
more experienced agent and that can be of benefit to you because newer agents
usually have more time to dedicate to your home sale while you will still
receive the experience from their partnering agent.
Also ask for data like: days on market (DOM), list price,
and sale to list price ratio because all of these statistics will show you how
quickly you may expect your home to sell and if you will get close to the list
price that the agent initially suggests.
Many agents will give you a high price to earn your business but then
ask you to drop the price. Understanding
this data before selecting an agent can help you avoid that problem.
Question #3 – What Is Your
Experience In My Neighborhood?
Last of all, make sure you choose a Realtor ® who has
experience selling homes in your Portland Oregon Neighborhood. They will know important details about the
area such as schools, parks, nearby amenities and other items that may be
important to potential buyers. They are
also more likely to know of potential buyers in the area if they have
specialized in that neighborhood.
