PORTLAND, OR – In recent years more tech companies are choosing to relocate to Portland or open new offices in the city every day including Google.
The tech giant announced this week that they will be growing their existing office, which they opened downtown about five years ago, and the new office will have the capacity to house about 20 or more employees.
A Real Part of Portland
What many people don’t know about Google is that the tech company has had an office in Portland since 2010. The goal of the expansion of their office here is to make it more ideal for their engineers who have been working in the former Instantiations facility that it acquired a few years ago.
Moving Slowly On Expansion
Although everyone knows that Google has the resources to grow their presence here quickly, the company has said that it plans to expand in Portland slowly and keep a low profile.
Google’s expansion news is also another sign that more tech workers are choosing Portland especially since there’s so many great things which the city has to offer the tech industry including: unique restaurants / bars, great gyms and innovative fitness centers, an array of art and cultural events, newer housing downtown and plenty of recreational options in Portland and across Oregon.
