NEW Portland Oregon Homes Are Selling For More Than National Average

By EquityPoint Real Estate

Thanks to recent data from Real Estate website Redfin we know that the median price for a Portland Oregon home is about $300,000, but for a new home built between 2014 and 2015 the median price is $509,000.

Many economists feel that Portland is becoming unaffordable, especially for first time home buyers, considering that the average price for a home in the USA is just $178,700 (Zillow).

With greater concern about affordability for the first time home buyer the question has to be asked: “Are there still affordable homes to be found in Portland?”  The answer is yes, especially if you know where to look.

Expired Listings

One of the first places to look for affordable Portland Oregon Homes for sale is expired listings.

An expired listing is a home that was recently on the Real Estate market for some time but for whatever reason the listing expired.

Your Realtor ® will have access to Portland Oregon Homes which can be classified as expired listings and this will enable you to connect with the homeowner and make them an offer on their home before they list it once again.

Rentals

Did you know another great way to find a home which is not currently on the market is to view rentals across Portland?

When you find a rental that you would be interested in purchasing you can have your Portland Oregon Realtor contact the owner and ask them if they would be interested in selling their home.
