Selling your Portland Home doesn’t have to be a complicated process. You can get your home ready for sale by following these 4 home sales secrets.
#1 – Leave Those Closets Half Empty
Although you may be tempted to leave everything in your closets, take the time to leave them half empty and well organized since most home buyers will want to know that your home has plenty of storage space.
#2 – Turn Those Lights On
Anytime you may plan on leaving your home during the day, be sure to leave your lights turned on.
This tip is especially important since some Realtor’s may decide to show your home in the evening and you want there to be plenty of lights on for agents to point out all of your homes best features.
#3 – Remove Your Pets
We all love our pets but the reality is that most pets can make it harder to sell a home since some buyers may not like animals and be concerned about what they’ve done to your home or property. Some buyers may also be allergic to animals and having them in the home could affect their ability to view it.
#4 – Take Away the Personalization from Your Home
Remove personalization from your home so that buyers can envision themselves living there and aren’t distracted by looking at your items rather than viewing the home. Take down family photos, artwork that may be for a very specific taste, knickknacks and other personal items from your shelves. Eliminate wallpaper and/or repaint over very unusual or bright paint colors with neutral colors.
